The county seat of Stanislaus County, Modesto is the 17th largest city in California. Modesto has a long-standing sports tradition as well. Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies class-A affiliate, The Modesto Nuts play ball at John Thurman Field in West Modesto. The Amgen Tour of California visits Modesto each year as well, with world-class cyclists riding through the cities streets on a leg of the tour that stretches across the state.
